Some Las Vegas dinners are really about where you are sitting: the whole valley rotating past a window, the fountains at your elbow, the Strip laid out below. These are the view tables that earn their price.

The short list

Where to eat,
start to finish

A view table is a different product from a food table, and the honest advice is that the best ones deliver both.

Book the window, then book the show, because at half these rooms the fountain runs on a schedule.

The revolving room at the Strat: a full 360-degree loop of the valley during dinner.

The fountain math

Bellagio's fountains run on a schedule, roughly every half hour in the evenings, so time the table accordingly. The patio seats at LAGO and the prime windows at Picasso and Eiffel Tower are the requests to make at booking.

For the budget version of the same view, Mon Ami Gabi's patio delivers the show for a fraction of the fine-dining tab.

The valley view

Top of the World completes one rotation about every 80 minutes, so any table gets every angle eventually, but the window seats facing the Strip at sunset are the ones to request.

Sunset is the golden window at every room on this list, and the 6 to 7 p.m. slot is the hardest to book.

Moving to Las Vegas? The food is part of the decision.

When clients relocate, the dining scene is one of the best ways to feel out a neighborhood. I can point you to the restaurants that make each corner of the valley home.
