Dining · Arts District

The 18b Arts District, the stretch of Main Street and the side streets just south of downtown, is Las Vegas' creative district and its favorite new food neighborhood, anchored by one famous pasta room and plenty of locals' secrets.

The short list

Where to eat,
start to finish

Galleries, breweries, coffee roasters and a vintage-furniture scene share the sidewalks with a restaurant layer that quietly became the best casual dining corridor in the central valley.

The formula is simple: independent kitchens, reasonable prices and none of the Strip's theater.

The anchor: seasonal Italian pastas in a warm room, James Beard-nominated and still walking-in friendly for solo diners.

Check it out

Coastal Mediterranean on the corner of Main and Charleston: seafood, paella and a great patio.

Evel Pie

The Evel Knievel-themed pizza shop: slices, craft beer and the most beloved cheap meal in the district.

The neighborhood bar-bistro that locals use as their living room: great drinks, great burgers.

Check it out

Texas-influenced barbecue with a cult following for the smoked meats.

The wine bar and restaurant on Charleston: natural wines and a food menu that punches above its weight.

Reliable, generous Mediterranean plates for a quick, solid meal.

The 18b loop

The classic Arts District evening: start with coffee at a roaster, browse the galleries and vintage shops, dinner at Esther's or Taverna Costera, then drinks at Main St. Provisions or one of the craft breweries.

Arts District nights on the first Friday of each month add street art and crowds, which changes the dining math, so book if you go then.

02 · Why

Why it matters for buyers

The Arts District is one of the reasons downtown living has taken off, and it is a ten-minute drive from most of the central valley. When relocating buyers ask if Las Vegas has a real city culture, this neighborhood is the answer.

Its growth is also worth watching for anyone buying near downtown: the neighborhood is still finding its ceiling.

Moving to Las Vegas? The food is part of the decision.

When clients relocate, the dining scene is one of the best ways to feel out a neighborhood. I can point you to the restaurants that make each corner of the valley home.
