Mount Charleston, Nevada

You may be surprised to find that only a short 35 miles northwest of the bright lights of the Las Vegas strip rises the majestic alpine forest of Mount Charleston. Located in the Spring Mountains of southern Nevada, and part of the Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest, the area offers hiking, camping and picnic areas as well as a modest ski area. The Mount Charleston peak is the eighth most prominent peak in the United States and reaches to an elevation of 11,918 feet.

Enjoy the beautiful views at Mount Charleston Lodge which features a Restaurant, Lounge and individual Log Cabins. At an elevation of nearly 8,000 feet, temperatures here are typically 20 degrees cooler than those in the Las Vegas valley. Enjoy breakfast, lunch or dinner here or even a relaxing stay in one of their romantic cabins which include whirlpool, fireplace and private decks. Beautiful vistas await from outdoor patio decks or from the numerous hiking trails in the area. The sights and sounds of nature abound; you may spot hummingbirds, woodpeckers, chipmunks, or even an occasional deer. Take a break from the summer heat, experience the golden and bright red colors of the Aspens in the fall, or play in the wintertime snowfall. Mount Charleston has so much to offer and it is all so close to the fun and excitement of Las Vegas!
